Mrs. S: Many moons ago, my friends and I sat in a round robin fashion and postulated on where we saw ourselves after graduation from secondary school. A lot of my friends talked about uni, then grad school, then PhD...some went all the way to their professional lives. When it was my turn, I said, sure, I’ll do uni but I am getting married the first thing smoking and I am having a gang of kids. I had it all planned out, 4 sets of twins, first set: girls, then boys, then girl and boy followed by boy and girl, had names picked out too. Needless to say, life hasn’t quite happened that way; when I was so sure that I would be married before a whole lot of my friends, I ended up as the last of the Mohicans. Fast forward to now, this “old maid” has met her prince charming and is realizing, quite honestly, that life really is a marathon.
